Granada Salvia, a walk in the heart of an Andalusian garden
The name of this new fragrance says a lot about its Mediterranean and Spanish connotation. Indeed, as he suggests, Guerlain here chooses to immerse us in the heart of a Spanish garden, more exactly located in Andalusia, in the city of Granada. To evoke this south-eastern part of Spain, the Guerlain house has structured all its fragrance around pomegranate and orange. The Andalusian garden designed by Guerlain is particularly sunny and warm. Pomegranate makes our mouth water here, while other fruits make the whole more tangy. Blackcurrant mixes with lemon and bergamot, for a very refreshing finish. Sage also twists the whole thing. Finally, for more persistence and character, Guerlain incorporates in its base an accord of cypress, oak moss and patchouli.
The return of Guerlain’s iconic Bee Flask
Like all the perfumes in the Aqua Allegoria collection, Granada Salvia is presented in a modern reinterpretation of the mythical Bee Bottle. Indeed, since 1853, this bottle is known throughout the world, as being the container of one of the most beautiful perfumes, intended for the Empress Eugenie: the Eau de Cologne Impériale. Here, its finely chiseled dome has been preserved. Golden in color, and topped with a gold ball, it plays with light, through its emblematic pattern in the shape of a honeycomb. The whole is made of a thick glass cylinder, totally transparent, revealing all the femininity of a soft pink juice. Only a white label breaks with this feminine color, with its clean white tone.
