Wonderlust, the new luxurious essence from Michael Kors

Michael Kors is a New York designer who quickly established himself as the idolized designer of the jet set and the stars. His numerous creations, most often combining luxury and sportswear, have earned him numerous awards in the field of fashion. Also, the creativity of this unusual character is also available in perfumery. Moreover, in this spring 2016, Michael Kors presents us with a brand new luxurious juice, this time called Wonderlust. This essence is, as usual, the result of unparalleled know-how, described as being both floral and fruity.

When Michael Kors surrounds himself with experts

In order to achieve this creation, Michael Kors has put the small dishes in the big ones and surrounded himself with the best perfumers of the moment. Indeed, Wonderlust is the work of a four- handed duo composed of Aurélien Guichard and Honorine Blanc. The latter was born in Lebanon and grew up in France. She first obtained a master’s degree in chemistry and mathematics before moving into the world of perfumery and joining ISIPCA in Versailles. In order to continue her studies, she then joined the IFF group in New York to become the trainee of perfumer Sofia Grojsman. Since 2005, she is back in France and is part of the Firmenich group. This outstanding designer has worked with the greatest houses such as Yves Saint-Laurent, Cacharel, Calvin Klein or Diesel. Aurélien Guichard, meanwhile, is barely 36 years old and yet is already one of the most prolific perfumers of his generation. He has to his credit dozens of bestsellers such as L’Eau by Narciso Rodriguez, Gucci by Gucci or Le Mâle Terrible by Jean-Paul Gaultier. You will understand, Wonderlust is a concentrate of know-how and refinement. He seems to have condensed all the love for the aromas of these two perfumers to bottle it.

The scent of the new Wonderlust

Wonderlust is therefore making its appearance in order to sublimate our summer season. In this sense, it is a fragrance that is both light and airy that goes perfectly with hot summer days. Its scent is by turns floral, fruity and delicious. Wonderlust begins with a tender and creamy sensation brought by the almond milk. This ingredient is reconstituted using several raw materials such as coumarin, heliotrope and benzyl alcohol. The whole brings here fruity, tender and powdery notes. Then, the heart of Wonderlust is more floral. Heliotrope gives this essence a suave, balsamic and vanilla character. What’s more, the elegance of this set is further enhanced by the presence of carnation, a feminine and rosy plant that is somewhat sassy and spicy. Finally, Wonderlust ends with a more woody and creamy base containing benzoin. On the bottle side, Wonderlust is contained in a thick glass cylinder resting on a base firmly anchored in the ground. Everything is designed in transparency but lets us glimpse slightly pinkish and particularly feminine hues. Finally, Wonderlust is still topped with a golden cabochon in brushed metal for a more contemporary look.
