Cerruti 1881, a multi-faceted juice
Green and fresh like the wind of change blowing in society but also deep and charming like the new femininity, Chamade makes women's hearts beat wildly.
Chamade or the scent of all freedoms!
The revolution of the 68s is underway. In addition to new societal provisions, women have finally obtained the proclamation of their rights and freedoms. Women now work, vote, take part in society and no longer hide in their kitchens. She also acquires a more exacerbated femininity which must be represented by fragrances that are both very fresh and very powerful, such as Chamade by Guerlain or even the sublime Diorella by Dior, a few years later.
Moreover, Chamade is also the first perfume that Jean-Paul Guerlain will create without the presence of his grandfather and master, Jacques Guerlain, who died in 1963. Freer, more daring, Jean-Paul Guerlain creates a a fragrance that gradually detaches itself from the family tradition without compromising it.
If the name of the beautiful fragrance is borrowed from a passionate heroine and outrageously woman of Françoise Sagan, even, as some will say, inspired by Brigitte Bardot, Chamade remains a perfume that carries with it the traces of a Guerlinade certainly modernized but always elegantly placed in the creative and innovative scent composition of the perfumer.
As for the visuals of Chamade, they always support Guerlain with an elegance of setting but by bringing some novelties allowing to propel the creation of Jean-Paul Guerlain towards very good commercial results.
Chamade or the first perfume to use the blackcurrant bud in perfumery
Chamade is the perfect blend of ancestral Guerlain traditions and the renewal desired by the latest descendant, Jean-Paul Guerlain, of this incredible line of perfumers. As a result, the Chamade bottle will also be a break with the house classics: the inverted heart is now the center of the bottle (not just the stopper as for Mitsouko) and drapes elegantly to better accommodate the arrow (Cupid's arrow?). Quite simply because “Chamade is a hymn to love, which sweeps like spring”.
Because Chamade likes to offer us its contrasts to better surprise us. The top notes of aldehyde and bergamot are transfigured by a wind of galbanum which will sublimate the so pretty and innovative blackcurrant bud, a fruity note par excellence. Then the divinely floral heart of ylang-ylang, jasmine and rose will be carried away by a cool breeze of hedione. Finally, if Chamade made our hearts beat with these breaths of fresh and bucolic air, he now offers us opulent and rich sensualities typical of the Guerlinade thanks to notes of benzoin, sandalwood, vanilla and vetiver. The pretty green floral oriental is "Dynamic, assertive, seductive" ...
“With flowers tinted with a thousand shades, he [Chamade] speaks of a romantic and daring woman who calmly assumes the inclinations of her heart. " All is said. Chamade is one of its perfumes which by their assertive modernity will figure among the great classics of fine perfumery.
