Moreover, the name of Coco had already been considered by Gabrielle Chanel herself for the perfume N ° 19, created in 1970. Nevertheless, this one was neglected because she feared that it did not mean much for the woman. most of the public and that rather it evokes the word rococo or, even worse, cocaine. Never mind, it was done 14 years later and this juice was a huge success! This perfume manages to combine the refinement and extravagance of Gabrielle Chanel. What is more, he is directly inspired by her apartment and carries within him a certain baroque culture. Thus, it is both spicy and suave, voluptuous and contrasting.
The baroque smell of Coconut
To create this perfume, Jacques Polge was inspired by Gabrielle Chanel's apartments in which exotic accessories, more modern geometric volumes, warm materials, dense and opaque blacks, exuberant golds, were mingled. 'he made up a very contrasting scent. This combines the luminosity of orange blossom from the Comoros with frangipani. The peach, for its part, brings a more velvety facet. The whole is also lit by blackcurrant buds from the Moluccas Islands while the Indian jasmine is more opulent. Two varieties of roses then come to establish the romanticism and femininity of the whole. Coco contains Bulgarian rose and Turkish rose. The whole is thus very sensual and s' finishes with more sweetness via a blend of benzoin from Siam, tonka bean, sandalwood from Mysore and opoponax. Coco is contained in a bottle similar to that of N ° 5, a sort of glass rectangle with slightly bevelled edges and topped with a cap carved like an emerald. Finally, the whole is further embellished with a black and gold label evocative of the rich decorations of Gabrielle Chanel's apartments.
