The tropical aspect of Eau d'Ivoire
The first Hermès juice was created in 1951 and was called Eau d'Hermès. Also, when the house developed Eau d'Orange Verte in 1979, it was a question of asserting itself as a full-fledged perfumer. We take a look back at the birth of this juice which has forever marked the history of the Hermès house.
Eau d'Orange Verte, the beginnings of a collection
When Hermès created Eau d'Orange Verte, the brand wanted to pay tribute to the beginnings of our modern perfumery by creating a form of Eau de Cologne. In addition, this olfactory format was for a very long time the only one to be used by men. It is therefore quite simply under the name of Eau de Cologne that Eau d'Orange Verte made its first appearance. It was not renamed with its current name until 1998. It is halfway between the historical testimony of fine perfumery and our current know-how. Eau d'Orange Verte has an authentic and fresh refinement. Its recipe is quite simple, but the know-how that went into its design is virtually unmatched. This then gave birth to a collection of Colognes signed by the Hermès label. Today, it comes out about two a year and these juices are always eagerly awaited by the public. Eau d'Orange Verte has a scent directly inspired by a day in the open air. It has thus drawn its source from the evolution of mentalities, the population being more and more eager to take advantage of multiple outdoor activities. For a little and the latter would almost make us want to ski, pedal, run or gallop! In other words, Eau d'Orange Verte is intended for men and women who are comfortable in their sneakers and at one with nature. the population being more and more eager to take advantage of multiple outdoor activities. Hermès' emblematic chypre freshness
It is the perfumer François Caron who developed this emblem of perfumery. Like any self-respecting Cologne, Eau d'Orange Verte is a concentrate of citrus fruits. Orange occupies the main place and leaves a tangy and citrusy freshness on the whole. It is accompanied by tangerine and lemon. Likewise, mint leaves further enhance its freshness. The blackcurrant bud, for its part, brings more impertinence and liveliness to the whole. The whole is then completed by a more juicy and fruity character under the mango and pineapple. Then, it's a floral accord that takes over. Eau d'Orange Verte unveils an elegant scent of gardenia, lily of the valley, honeysuckle and rose. Everything is worked in a very fresh way, as still under the morning dew effect. Finally, the whole warms up little by little and the Eau d'Orange Verte ends with an association of oak moss and patchouli.
