Irresistible, the new very fruity fragrance from Givenchy
Ivory is a noble material constituting the main material of the tusks of animals such as elephants, hippos, walruses or sperm whales. It is then coveted by men since prehistoric times. Both robust and fascinating in beauty, it embodies both elegance and determination. Also, this is precisely what we find in the Ivoire perfume from the house of Balmain. Nevertheless, although it appeared in 2012, be aware that this one actually has a much older history.
The history of Balmain's ivory perfume
Ivoire is a legendary perfume that was created for the very first time in 1982 by Pierre Balmain. This has a very strong symbolic significance since it is the very last juice produced by this talented creator just before his death. A true masterpiece of elegance and femininity, this one was born from a fleeting encounter. Pierre Balmain then explained: “This is the name I gave to a dream. The name of a woman of sovereign beauty, adorned with very pale silk. I passed her for a moment at the foot of the Opera House stairs before she disappeared into the night. I remember her hat and her perfume… ”This one is therefore both charged with feelings and emotions while being timeless and wildly elegant. Also, it was under the leadership of the creator Olivier Rousteing that he was brought back to life in 2012. Ivoire now embodies the image of the new Balmain woman. This one is nevertheless loaded with memories, possessing a touch of nostalgia which only reinforces its charm. Ivoire is a juice at the border of time, at the same time remarkably modern while being particularly authentic. It is a charismatic and refined fragrance with great sensuality.
The new version of the Ivoire perfume
It is therefore to perfumers Michel Almairac and Jacques Flori that have been entrusted with the task of reinterpreting this fragrant opus of yesteryear. This one then knew how to preserve the authenticity of its elder while adding new facets to it. In other words, it is neither quite the same nor totally different. It has simply been reinterpreted and readjusted for the women of our time. Ivoire begins with a less aldehyde grip than before and less spicy. On the other hand, it is more powdery and luminous, forming an enormous floral bouquet. Violet is here associated with orange blossom as well as jasmine and rose. Mandarin also completes this blend of dazzling and tangy dynamism. Likewise, galbanum only reinforces this effect with its vegetal and biting presence. The together is coated with ylang-ylang, a product loaded with sunshine and unrivaled exoticism. Ivory thus becomes softer and then evolves towards a more chypre base based on patchouli, vetiver and cedar. Finally, the vanilla finishes to sublimate the whole with its suave heat. On the bottle side, the original Ivory container has also been modernized. Square in shape, it has traded in its yesteryear scabbard for a limpid transparency displayed in a cut glass with clean modern lines. the original Ivory container has also been modernized.
