L'Homme Idéal by Guerlain in Eau de Parfum concentration
He is the very interpretation of the Lacoste spirit, possessing an innate sense of elegance while maintaining an omnipresent sportsmanship. So let's take a closer look at the new crocodile fragrance.
The elegant bottle of L'Homme Lacoste
First of all, let's start by taking a closer look at the new bottle of L'Homme Lacoste. This perfume is presented to us in a contemporary, sober, and refined container. This is available in two different formats, namely 50 and 100 ml. Entirely made of glass, this bottle is directly inspired by the graphic lines and colors of tennis. Thus, its rectangular shape recalls that of the course. The transparency of its glass, meanwhile, lets us glimpse an orange-colored juice reminiscent of the expectation of clay. The name of L'Homme Lacoste appears soberly on its front, while being directly surmounted by the famous crocodile of the house in a silver color. The whole is also topped by an elegant black chromed metal cover. The whole is particularly refined.
The woody and spicy fragrance of L'Homme
On the scent side, Lacoste called on the perfumer Michel Girard to make this new fragrance. This renowned designer works for the famous Givaudan group and is today one of the most illustrious perfumers on the planet. We owe him many best-sellers with diverse and varied styles. Here, he has chosen to deliver a fragrance that is at the same time sober, contemporary and nuanced. L'Homme Lacoste begins with a fruity and fresh flight, dominated by the presence of lemon. Rhubarb, for its part, brings a more tangy part here. More powerful spicy aromas also shake the whole thing up. They consist in particular of ginger and black pepper. Jasmine then offers the whole all its elegance and opulence. This flower, emblematic of perfumery, is finally enriched with woody notes. L'Homme Lacoste ends with a blend of cedar and agikalawood. These two very masculine ingredients are also surrounded by the creamy and animal sensuality of musk, vanilla, and almonds.
Back to the history of the Lacoste crocodile
Of course, the famous Lacoste crocodile is once again clearly highlighted on this perfume. This plunges us directly into the history of the Lacoste brand, and has been present within the brand since its founding in 1933. In reality, its history comes from a bet made in 1923 between René Lacoste and his tennis coach, Alan Muhr. The latter had promised to give him a crocodile skin suitcase if he won his next match. Unfortunately, the match was lost but René Lacoste still inherited the qualifier of "crocodile that never lets go of its prey" in the sports press. The legend was launched and it is precisely this that can be found on the front of the L'Homme Lacoste perfume.
