The sensuality of So First by Van Cleef & Arpels

Van Cleef & Arpels plunges us into the heart of the 1970s. Indeed, it was exactly in 1976 that this exceptional jeweler decided to launch into perfumery. The surprise was great since it had never been seen before. Nevertheless, her first fragrance First was particularly well received by the public. In this case, the success of this essence was such that First is classified today as a real myth. Also, to mark the 40th anniversary of this exceptional essence, Van Cleef & Arpels has chosen to revisit its scent. It is therefore in this context that the new So First will appear very soon.

Van Cleef & Arpels readjust one of its bottles

As a self-respecting jeweler, it was out of the question for Van Cleef & Arpels to neglect the aesthetic aspect of its bottle. Thus, when the brand released its very first essence, it ensured that it was contained in a very elegant and refined case. The First bottle therefore adopts a very feminine shape. Van Cleef & Arpels has indeed opted for voluptuous curves in the heart of which it slipped its tender amber juice. Its cap, meanwhile, adopts exactly the same shape as the case except that it is smaller and inverted. In addition, it underlines all its refinement by endowing itself with a gold line. Also, on the occasion of the release of the new So First, this design has been slightly revisited. Indeed, Van Cleef & Arpels made sure to make it a kind of more modern sculpture. This new piece of jewelry is just as feminine and elegant. What is more, the transparency of its glass now suggests a very tender, particularly feminine pink color. The rendering is absolutely sublime, worthy of a real gem.

The intoxicating scent of the new So First

On the scent side, this perfume is signed by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. She wanted to make this essence a concentrate of freshness, elegance and sensuality. So First starts off with a very floral scent of magnolia. This releases vanilla and slightly lemony accents. These are then reinforced by the marked but sweet freshness of bergamot. This ingredient brings a real radiance to this essence from its top notes. Then, So First evolves towards a particularly feminine heart. This releases slightly powdery tones through the presence of jasmine. In addition, the frangipani flower releases its floral, powerful, vanilla and amended scents. The rendering is particularly refined. Finally, it all ends with a much softer and more enveloping scent. Vanilla comes to expose its spicy and exotic heat while sandalwood releases its warm and oriental scent. What is more, this ingredient has the ability to increase the tenacity of the essences which contain it. Thus, the trail of So First is particularly marked and will follow you throughout the day.
