It seems that with Fahrenheit Parfum released in 2013, the famous Dior nose has won its daring adventure. Powerful, always so intoxicating with its astonishing violet-wood accord, Fahrenheit Parfum has been enriched with some raw masculinities and some sensual delicacies too ...

The sun meets the moon for Fahrenheit Parfum

Fahrenheit is not only a totally cult perfume from the 80s, it is also representative of a new conception of perfumery, that of the cult of personality, if possible strong and marked, but above all free. Thus the advertising campaigns of Fahrenheit and all its variations make play of grandiloquent directors and sumptuous landscapes filmed with panoramic angles making man appear so tiny in front of the immensity of Nature.

For Fahrenheit Parfum, it seemed obvious to highlight with an extraordinary aestheticism the natural elements, eternal stars of previous campaigns. Fahrenheit Parfum hardly needs a muse, as the sun and the moon seek and find each other better to separate and then “slip away”, illustrate so well the concept of opposites translated into fragrance by Demachy.

Because more than ever, Fahrenheit Parfum is built on an architecture in total opposition between flowers and virile powers, between the strength of the wood and the fragile softness of the violet.

An oriental-floral-woody essence sublimated by Jacques Demachy

Inspired by James Rosenquist's paintings "Fahrenheit 1982" and "Brighter than the sun", the original Fahrenheit bottle was conceived as a work of art illustrating the fusion of materials. Naturally Fahrenheit Parfum uses this legendary form again, but this time the container seems even thicker and with smokier reflections, more mysterious perhaps?

We are not mistaken, for Demachy, creator of Fahrenheit Parfum, it was not a question of making with Fahrenheit an ultracamphoric version of the flagship fragrance but rather of making it more intense: "I did not want to caricature Fahrenheit which is already a very assertive writing. I rather followed its original outline by adding elements which enrich its history, underline its atypical personality ”.

Thus the top notes still distill us the subtle freshness of its elder with the Sicilian mandarin, lemon and lavender underlined by the subtly spicy hint of pink berries. In the middle note, we will have the joy of rediscovering the precious violet-wood accord, but it will be less pronounced than in the 1988 juice, giving way to a smoked leather and balsamic accord that is more mystical after all than the initial one. The deep trail leaves no doubt about the powerful woody virility of this Fahrenheit Parfum which exudes a very powerful cocktail of guaiac, birch, vetiver, patchouli and cedar. Yet this vegetal strength supported by the sensuality of amber will not hesitate to envelop itself in the sweetness of vanilla and benzoin.

Fahrenheit Parfum seems to offer the adventurer of modern times a fragrance with virile and sensual notes that are no longer afraid to highlight a sweetness once reserved exclusively for feminine fragrances. Like such a beautiful “harmony of opposites”, Fahrenheit Parfum is still seductive thanks to the multiplicity of its facets leaving the trail of a mysterious and elegant man always so independent.
