Tsar, the fragrant heritage of Van Cleef & Arpels
Together, they explored all trades related to the world of luxury, never hesitating to conquer new markets to create new artistic and refined pieces. This is how Hermès one day embarked on the creation of silk scarves. Likewise, a few years later, Hermès also decided to explore the world of perfumery. Today, these two different skills come together in a new fragrance: Twilly d'Hermès , a fragrance inspired by a Hermès silk scarf. Since 2017, Twilly d'Hermès has been delighting young, playful and creative women. Today, for their greatest pleasure, Hermès announces the release of a derivative of its scent: Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée.
The story of Twilly d'Hermès
To better understand this fragrance, it is important to dive back into the history of Hermès. It all started in 1937, when Robert Dumas created the very first Hermès silk scarf, a small scarf decorated with equestrian motifs, in reference to the area of origin of Hermès. Gradually, over the decades, Hermès silk squares have become world famous, which has allowed them to come in countless different colors, as well as in various shapes. It was therefore a little later that the Twilly d'Hermès appeared, the brand's smallest scarf, measuring 86 cm long and 5 cm wide. Designed at the start of the 21st century, it offered countless possibilities, which could be worn in a lot of different ways. The Twilly d'Hermès is used by some as a handbag accessory, while others use it as a bracelet, jewelry, or hair accessory. Each can thus express with him his own personality. However, in 2017, as if to pay tribute to it, Hermès chose to make it a perfume.
Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée, the fragrance of a free and creative woman
In keeping with this little scarf, the Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée perfume is aimed at all women who like to let their inventiveness speak for themselves. Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée does not lack temperament and vivaciously expresses all the ambitions and desire for innovation of the women of our time. It was developed for “girls who swim happily against the tide, set their own tempo, invent a whole new rhythm. For them, explains Christine Nagel, Hermès designer, I imagined a new facet, in homage to their spirit of eternal youth ”.
Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée, a three-step fragrance
This time, Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée revolves around three main ingredients. First, it warms up with pink pepper, a spice widely used in feminine perfumery, replacing for the occasion the ginger of the previous Twilly d'Hermès.
Then, the rose seizes the heart of Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée. Make no mistake, like women's perfumery, it is not used here under its wisest and romantic side. The rose shows itself to be more irreverent and indomitable. Fresh and airy, it is a symbol of absolute liveliness.
Finally, Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée ends with the darker and more pronounced presence of patchouli.
